1. Agreement to Terms

By using this website or booking work with Potlight Installation Toronto, you agree to these terms. Your signed written quote sets out the specific scope, price and schedule for your project, and it takes priority over these general terms if the two ever differ.

2. Services

Potlight Installation Toronto provides residential and light commercial lighting installation across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, including:

All electrical work is carried out by ESA-licensed electricians (309A) or apprentices working under a licensed journeyperson, in line with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code. We file the required ESA notification for each installation.

3. Consultations and Quotes

Consultations are free and include a drawn-to-scale layout on projects over $500. Your written quote is fixed for the scope described in it. If we find something once a ceiling is open that wasn't visible during the consultation, such as damaged wiring, we'll stop and talk to you before doing any extra work. Nothing is added without your approval.

4. Pricing and Payment

Prices on this website are starting prices in Canadian dollars (CAD) and include labour, LED fixtures, wiring to a new dimmer or switch, drywall patching on removed fixtures, cleanup and a written workmanship warranty, unless your quote says otherwise. Applicable taxes are extra. We accept cash, credit card, e-transfer and cheque. Payment terms are confirmed on your written quote.

5. Scheduling, Access and Cancellations

Please clear the work area, provide access to the attic, panel and rooms listed on your quote, and arrange condo elevator or loading bookings where needed. If you need to reschedule, let us know at least 48 hours ahead so we can offer the slot to another homeowner. Late cancellations may be charged for fixtures that were special-ordered for your job.

6. Ceilings, Plaster and Hazardous Materials

We cut and patch carefully, but older plaster and textured ceilings can crack or vary in texture. Drywall patching is included; paint touch-up and exact texture matching on older stucco have limits, which we'll explain during the consultation. Textured ceilings from the 1960s to 1980s may contain asbestos. We'll ask for a test before cutting, and any abatement must be done by a qualified company before we begin.

7. Workmanship Warranty

Every installation comes with a written workmanship warranty covering our labour. The terms are provided in writing at your final walkthrough. Fixtures, dimmers and other products carry their own manufacturer warranties. The warranty doesn't cover damage from misuse, alterations by others, power surges or fixtures supplied by the customer.

8. Customer-Supplied Fixtures

We're happy to install chandeliers, pendants, fans and other fixtures you supply. Please make sure they're complete, CSA or cUL approved for use in Canada, and suitable for the location. We aren't responsible for defects in customer-supplied products.

9. Limitation of Liability

We carry WSIB coverage and $2M commercial general liability insurance through Northbridge Insurance. To the extent allowed by law, Potlight Installation Toronto isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from our services or from use of this website.

10. Website Content

Content on this website, including text, layouts and graphics, belongs to Potlight Installation Toronto. Information on the site is general guidance and doesn't replace an in-home consultation. Estimates and prices shown are starting points, not final quotes.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
